Scientific Initiation

The Institutional Scientific Initiation Scholarship Program (PIBIC UFV) aims to awaken scientific vocation and encourage the emergence of new talents among undergraduate students at the Universidade Federal de Viçosa, by expanding their access to scientific culture.

PIBIC UFV also aims to:
train human resources for research in different professional activities;

increase interaction between undergraduate and graduate programs;
train students for taking graduate programs and reduce the average time of their permanence in them; encourage researchers to involve undergraduate students in scientific, technological, professional and artistic-cultural activities;

and allow fellows to be guided by a qualified researcher and learn research techniques and methods, aiming at stimulating scientific thinking and creativity, through their contact with research problems.
